life update

Hey, guys! I hope you're having a great week. It's been pretty quiet over here these past few days because it's just been so busy with B doing his last shifts of overnight's in the ICU, planning our move and all things mom life haha that I haven't been able to photograph any outfits or sit down and write. If you follow me on Snap Chat you have seen how crazy our days can get and then B wakes up after a 28 hr and the last thing I want to ask is please take some pics of me! Basically, it's the last thing on my mind when all I want to do is spend time with him and all of us as a family. And here's the thing he would totally do it for me as well but sometimes I just accept the flow of life and stop pushing things that just don't quite fit at the moment. I love to blog, share looks and I've had so much more momentum here (which I love!) but on weeks like this week I just need a little time away. I'm so thrilled for what's to come for us and the changes that our family is going through! Little miss is getting more and more active every day and I'm getting more and more excited to meet her!

At this point I want to make sure that I stay grounded not only for my own health but for the health of our growing family unit. It's amazing how my attitude and health affects everyone. If I'm not well then it trickles down and we all feel it. A lot of times I've thought and wondered about how much has happened in these past five years. It's a lot! I was in graduate school pursing my dual-degree, then I quit to move here to Milwaukee to be with B (because long-distance marriage no matter how many times we saw each other was just not in the books for us). Worked full-time in Pediatric Genetics (an area I had no clue about) and learned immensely while growing as a person professionally. Then to expecting Gabriel (who will be 3 next month) and you all know the rest by now or at least those bits that I've shared. It all can get so overwhelming with the changes and the many surprises that come with life.

One of the things that I admire most about my mother is that regardless of the changes she's experienced in this life, she has bloomed where she was planted. And I think a lot about examples like the book of Esther and how she rose to the occasion for, "such a time as this." I would have never thought that I'd still be blogging a little over two years. I started this space to have something creative outside of being a stay-at-home-momma and it's really unlike me to stick with things (haha just being honest here!) But I'm so glad that I have. I believe that through our lives we can allow God to fulfill his purpose in us. Even when at the time it all seems so random and jumbled! But in opening our hearts and lives we allow that space of transformation and blooming to happen in whatever stage we are in. I've found that the more business, challenges, time away from B, and more of our everyday adventures that happen, my desire to draw closer to God and incline on grace overwhelms me and keeps me at peace. So all of this to say (hehe) that I pray that though our daily life is full of small challenges, bright moments and unexpected changes we may reach closer and deeper in our faith because of it.

Wishing you an amazing Easter weekend from our growing family to yours!

maternity Spring must-haves & Blog-Hop

Striped bodycon dress via Target | Hunter boots shop them here (with free shipping!) | Brewers cap shop it here | My lipstick is 'Bold Spring' by Mac shop it here with free shipping!

I hope you had an amazing weekend! I'm so excited for today's post because I've teamed up with four wonderful bloggers who also happen to be amazing momma's to bring you some really fun Spring ideas that cover various topics (be sure to scroll down to find the direct links to their posts)! I'm not sure what the weather is like where you are but here in Wisconsin the weather has been all over the place. One day it's in the 60's, and I'm wearing dresses, the other day we get hit with a few inches of snow! However, this past week it seems like perhaps the intense winter part is over and we're easing into more spring-like weather for good (crossing my fingers real hard over here).

If you're reading this and are expecting- Congratulations! I wanted to narrow down the following style items based on a few trends and more basic (and practical) pieces that can roll-over easily into summer. Some of these pieces, like this kimono are non-maternity but work perfectly for layering with a bodycon dress or tank top with jeans. I'm also a firm believer in the right supportwear. I swear by Blanqi products and their white tank top is perfect for layering but it also works as a top! The striped dress that I styled in today's post is so comfortable and every preggo needs a cute little striped dress! With the ever changing weather I can layer it with a utility jacket or once it's warmer with some white sneakers for an easy look to run around with the boys! And I couldn't forget a cute weekender because we all need one for our hospital bag and this was too cute to not add. I'm also really interested in this Newlie Baby bagso chic and more on the affordable side for a designer bag.

But I think if there's one thing that I would recommend as a 'must-have' (that isn't exactly in the 'style' department) it would be this Earth Mama Angel Baby postpartum kit (and this balm too)! I'm due in late Spring and although I cannot wait to hold our baby girl I also know that the postpartum experience is challenging. I had really beautiful labor experiences with both boys but I had a lot of physical healing to do! And I'm going to keep it real with you momma's because these products were life savers for me! They made such a huge difference in my postpartum recovery and I cannot recommend them enough.

Wishing you a wonderful week ahead! Do you guys have any Spring must-haves that you'd like to add to the list?! I'd love to know!

Instagram round-up!

I hope your weekend is going well thus far! We decided to head to the mall today (Saturday) and I didn't bring my double-stroller along which meant that Gabriel was walking freely and somehow I lost my keys! You guys it was a nightmare. I contacted lost and found, security and they hadn't been returned. So here I was walking around hoping to somehow find them. Finally, I decided to head back to each store to check and leave my number just in case they showed up. We walked around for almost 1.5 hours (thank God for full bellies and lollipops) !

I was trying to call B (bless his heart) who was probably on his third dream since he had done another 28 hour shift and wasn't answering his phone. I was just about to give up when I decided to check the very first store we walked through. The associates called lost and found and there they were! So thankful that we found them! When we got home all B told me was, I'm just glad you're okay. Keys can get replaced but I'm so happy you're home. And yes folks I ugly cried haha! Anyway I am just so happy the boys were so chill through most of it (one floor tantrum but they were troopers considering) and we are all okay.

Today's post is a quick round-up of several posts I've shared on Instagram but not on the blog with all the links & details!

I'm in love with my new S'well water bottle! It keeps things cold for 24hrs and hot for 12 hrs! Find it here (other colors available too).

I've been on a pastel kick on my nails and vegan nailpolish brand SpaRitual's new spring line delivers! I love every color and they remind me of freshly  dyed Easter eggs :) Get the line here.

When the weather decides to feel like spring I wear a lot of blazers because they're such a great piece to style! It's such an easy way to pull and outfit together as well. I love this blush one from H & M  I styled on the blog a few weeks ago. I wore it here with , these flatsthese similar jeans and you can get the blazer here

I'm all about comfy pants that feel like pj's! These from Loft that you can shop here aren't maternity but they fit perfectly under my bump! They're also on sale now! I wore them with this white top, and my white sneakers you can get here.

I love wearing these vegan leather preggo leggings with a big cozy sweater and my favorite Nike kicks that you can shop here!

I'm loving my Mac "Bold Spring" lipstick a lot lately, it's such a pretty pink! You can shop it here with free shipping!

Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead!

boho for Spring

Pink boho top via Target | Wedges are old similar here and here | White maternity jeans via Target (I love these jeans!) | My lipstick is my fave nude/tan Laura Mercier "Milky Way" here | Tory Burch fold over via Thred Up similar Tory Burch bag here and more affordable version here

How has your week been?! I wish I could say that at this point I've gotten over the time change but I have not. But honestly I'm thinking it's a mix of being almost 29 weeks (already...) and moving. Under 'normal' circumstances I'd be pretty tired haha! But thankfully we're getting some family help soon and I think we'll be well on our way! We've also decided to get movers when the day comes because me and this bump are starting the waddle and I really can't help actually move things. And even though B (and the boys) would like to, I think it'll be the best choice over all.

This week B had a day off and we were able to spend some time together as a family which is always so nice! I've been on the hunt for a boho top for Spring and whadayaknow Target delivered once again! They have this super cute new boutique line called Knox Rose and I want one of everything por favor. They have flowy dresses, tops but the best part is that they aren't maternity but work great for during and after! And although I'm no longer nursing C I had one of my stretchy tanks underneath and it'll work great for nursing as well. Basically it's my new fave! And you guys know how I've been loving my blush tones lately that I had to have it.

It's almost Friday! And it looks like locally we might have a rain-free weekend... Wishing you a great rest of your day!
