smoothie bowls with Door to Door Organics

* Full disclosure I was given products by Door to Door Organics to facilitate this post. All opinions are my own. And as always thank you so much for supporting brands that help support Mommy in Milwaukee.

Hello, guys! I hope you all have had an amazing week! We have had a good but very busy one. Lots of exciting stuff happening with our little family but I'll save that for another post :) Until then we only have one week left until Match Day and the worry has been filled with excitement!

In our very busy mornings I've been so happy to be able to find a fun and easy way to get my fill of fruit and veggies. And what I love about Door to Door Organics is that I don't have to worry about heading to the grocery store with both boys to pick up our produce. I am sure all of my parent readers can agree that task can be rather challenging with littles in tow. And Door to Door Organics makes easy to have yummy, organic and fresh produce delivered right to your door! I am so thankful that we had all of the fresh organic produce that we needed and I had one less thing to worry about in the middle of our Match madness. I am all about simplifying our lives :) If you want to sign up follow this link for $10 off your first order!

I've been experimenting with smoothie bowls and cannot get enough! They are very simple to make and the best part is that Gabriel has so much fun making and eating them afterwards. And he has no idea how good they are for him. He pretty much thinks they are ice cream and honestly they taste like it too! Here are two of my favorite so far and whats great about smoothie bowls is that there is no right or wrong way to make them. Just have fun and add as many fruit of veggies as you'd like. My suggestion is to pre-cut your fruit and veggies and stick them in the freezer. That way you don't have to add ice as the fruit acts as the ice!

Veggie Pick-ME-Up Delight smoothie bowl

You will need:
1 organic avocado
1 organic mango
1organic bunch of Spinach
2 organic bananas
2 cups organic soy or almond milk (or more depending on how thick you want your smoothie)
whatever fruit you'd like to add on top!

To make:
Just blend it all together! The bananas really add the sweetness that you need to contrast the veggies. I like to wait until the bananas are more ripe and then freeze them. This serves about 2-3 depending on the size of bowls.

Antioxidant Berry Mango Smoothie bowl

You will need:

1 organic banana
1 organic mango
1 cup organic  blueberries
1 cup organic rasberries
1 cup organic blackberries
1 bunch organic baby spinach
2 cups organic soy or almond milk (add more or less milk as you'd like for thickness)

To make:
Just blend it all together! All of these fruits are rich in antioxidants and the perfect start to any day :)This also serves about 2-3 depending on the bowl size.

I hope you enjoy them and if you'd like to sign up click here I highly recommend it for good, fresh and organic produce that is delivered right to your door!

moto & florals

Hello, guys! How was your weekend? Our was pretty crazy. Mi amor has been on a busy rotation this month that's also known as his Sub-Internship. He is rarely home at a decent time or he is working an on call shift where we don't usually see him for 24 hours or so. Needless to say when he is home not only is it the happiest of times but the busiest as well! We try to get as much done like cleaning, packing and seeing homes in the area. But all in all it was great to have him home :)
I have been on the look out for a cute moto jacket to wear now that the weather seems to be warming up. It's also such a closet staple. You can dress it up or down and it always gives an outfit that cute edge. I was so excited when I found this one. It's faux leather but is very well made. I paired it with this cute floral shirt dress to give it a softer vibe and I love how it looks. Are you guys fans of moto jackets?!

I hope you all had an amazing week! I don't usually blog on the weekends but I am so excited to introduce my newest series on MIM that will now take place on Saturdays! I am approached by a lot of amazing small businesses via my blog or Instagram that are often owned by mommas. Believe me when I say I wish I could buy an item from each and every one of these shops. But that just isn't going to work well with my budget, haha! However, I am such a huge fan of small businesses especially when they are run by moms. Not only do I find them ultra inspiring but I know all of the hard work that goes into making them happen. I may not have the biggest blog or the hugest (not sure if that's a word) following on Instagram but what I know is that I have an amazing community of followers and readers that have supported me thus far. And my thinking is that, if I can share one awesome small mommy business every Saturday with you all then we can start making waves and help these businesses grow. So without further delay I introduce my first mommy business guests Ashley and Kourtney from Hip Little Cubs- I'll let them tell you all about it!

What inspired you to start your own business?
We are inspired by our children. Always.  When your baby is born, there is an absolute perfection right there in front you. It is the only time in your entire life when you will witness complete 100% perfection.  We strive everyday, as all moms do, to be exactly what our children need. We wanted to create a business with products that we, ourselves, absolutely loved to use for our children. We also wanted to be a place where you can find unique, one of a kind products, without searching all over Instagram or Amazon. We want to bring all of that together into one place, a hip place, where baby trends meet functionality, and make it easy with shipping.

Tell me about your favorite product you carry?
We just partnered up with The Little Linen Company, and our site will be stocked with inventory soon.   I cannot wait to start offering these beautiful, high quality blankets! I also really love the baby essentials line, homemade organic baby products made with essential oils, that WORK.

What has been your biggest challenge?
I think obviously the challenge is inventory and marketing. We are stay at home moms with limited income, we can't afford to stock everything we WANT to offer right away, and being patient and smart with our ordering takes some time. Another challenge is getting ourselves out there.  When you take a risk, with something you are passionate about and something you work hard on everyday, and you put it out there for the world, you want them to appreciate it and love it the way that you do. We hope to market ourselves in a way that will bring in people who care about the same things: quality products for our most precious children.

What is your favorite part of being a mompreneur?!
I love that I can work from home, networking and meeting new people everyday, and still look up and see my smiling baby.  I love that I can still be the mom I want to be and strive to be, but also run a business that I really love.

Any advice for inspiring mompreneurs?
I think that just like with everything else, you just have to go for it.  You have this wonderful dream, and its up to you to make it come to life.  Show your children what hard work and determination can get you!  Its the modern day "american dream", where you pull your bootstraps up and go after what you want.  Moms could rule the world!

Love that so much! Thanks so much for sharing your business with us and for answering my questions ladies! I wish you all the best and so much sucess! Now go ahead folks check out their adorable website Hip Liitle Cubs (I'm a huge fan of their A& A blankets!) and give them a follow @HipLittleCubs on Instagram!

(and if you want to be featured on MIM shoot me an email at or use the hashtag #MommyBusinessSaturday so that I can check your shop out!)

weekly moments

It's been a crazy few weeks for our little family. From being sick, losing a loved one, getting ready to move, match day prep and the list goes on. But when I look at these pics I'm reminded of the moments we are given. And I'm so thankful for that! So here's drooly Cristian, playtime, Gabriel's focus, first giggles and my favorite flowers from the Domes.

Hope you're having a great week!

night & day in emerald

I hope you all had a great weekend! We started house shopping and it's even harder than I thought. I just get so excited when I see a home I love and of course my husband is the opposite and scrutinizes every detail which IS important. But you can find me in the corner like, "But the crown molding!" haha! It's been a lot of fun either way and I've started the Match Day countdown, 19 more days!

So March is here and that means warmer weather right?! Right. I love a cute shirt dress for Spring and when I found this one in this amazing emerald green I had to have it. I've been writing a lot about how I'm trying to minimize what I buy and instead buy items that I can mix up. This shirt dress is just one of those buys. It's so easy to dress up or down and it's very comfortable. I also love the hi-low detail and did I mention the great color?! Oh and it's very nursing friendly :) Here I styled it for both night and day by adding different shoes and accessories!

I hope you all have a great Monday!
