Day to Night

Hello lovelies!

I hope everyone is enjoying every bit of this summer! We have been visiting family, going out to all those splash pads (that are frozen over in the winter) and swimming as much as we can. I am also guilty of updating my Instagram page and forgetting to update all of you lovely peeps!

Earlier this week I found what I call - the perfect dress! It isn't maternity but somehow it just flows like it is. I am convinced they just tagged it wrong ;) The brand is Trendyland and I found it at Marshalls. You guys, it has pockets, it's jersey and just look at how it falls! I tried looking everywhere online for similar ones and finally just linked up several for you. Here I styled it from day-to-night by changing just the shoes and adding jewelry.

I hope you are all having a great day! and Happy Hump Day "Bump" Day!

I remember my grandfather as always being happy. He was always laughing or sharing a joke. Whenever we visited he would roar with laughter and he never failed to tell me how beautiful he thought I was. He always had a huge smile on his face and his bright teeth shined against his tan face. He was small built but he had a strong grip that was a remnant of all of the years he worked planting and in construction in Puerto Rico. He never remarried after my grandmother passed over 34 years ago. He still lived in the house he bulit where my mother grew up. And he always kept the place in tip top shape until this past year he had a stroke and became bed-ridden.
My parents moved back to Puerto Rico at this time, and they cared for him. My mother visited him daily, helped clean, feed, bathe and change him. Along with my Uncles they provided all that he needed for his care. My Mom shared stories of how difficult it was for him at the nursing home. He would rip his clothing and grabbed whatever he had on to take it off. She cried a lot over the phone and I knew it was not only difficult for him but also for my mother.
Recently, my parents decided to move back to the states to be closer to us (their children) and grandchildren. On Tuesday March18th, they said their goodbyes, boarded the plane and left Puerto Rico. When they landed they were told that my grandfather passed away while they were flying out. The agony in my mother's voice is something that I will never forget as she shared with me what happened. I hurt for the loss of my grandfather and I hurt for the love of my mother for her father. I hurt for her, as she replays her goodbyes and how the unexpected happened in this way.
I could not help but think about how our lives can be both long journeys or short ones. We do not know the day we will die, or how it will happen. We are not guaranteed to have anyone there with us. We cannot plan how we will leave this earth. We are not promised tomorrow. My mother asked herself over and over, why didn't she stay a day longer?
We were hoping Gabriel could meet his only living great-grandparent this year. We know now that will never happen. However, as a parent I have the privilege and responsibilty to keep his memory alive. In that way I honor his name. Because he lived and married my grandmother, my mother could live and marry my father, I could be born and marry my husband and Gabriel could be born to live. He is a part of his legacy and is his most current generation. Both his genes and memories run through him and his story is a part of his identity.
I only wish that I had known him better but we cannot turn back time. I can make sure that my children will know their living family members as well as possible and spend time with them. I remember my grandfather today and all of the memories we share and the stories of when my mother was a child.
Towards the end of his life, he gave his heart in faith to Christ and my mother was able to witness it. She is comforted in knowing that his soul lives on in peace.

Romans 8:38-39 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

tres chic mama!

Hello Lovelies! This week has been a bit crazy, lots of cleaning, sewing, organizing, and some traveling! But I was so happy to be able to spend the weekend with my loves, and honey bun has been home! Which leads me to my post ;) I absolutely love this Oh Baby Chic Tee! It is so comfy, cute and soft. And I honestly felt really chic with it on! It was perfect for a night out. Here I dressed it up a bit with my black pumps, pearls and clutch. But I can't wait to also pair it with some denim shorts. Have a great rest of the week!

Oh and I'm officially #23weekspregnant today- our little baby boy is viable!

bohemian vibe

I'm loving the comfortable bohemian vibe going around this summer! My sister gave me this beautiful top and I cannot stop styling it. You'll most likely see it on me more than once (more like all the time) this summer hehe :) And I'm also kind of living in these gladiator sandals from Target- so perfect!

I hope this week is fantastic for you!

Pregnancy Update #2!

Hello lovelies!

We had our follow-up ultrasound yesterday! I was feeling pretty anxious, but we were so excited to see our baby again! I want to start out by letting you all know that e v e r y t h i n g looks GREAT! I know that a lot of our family and friends have been sending prayers, positive thoughts and well wishes our way, and I have no doubt that they made all the difference. We had an in-depth look at our little one and my womb, and miraculously the placenta is no where near my cervix. It has completely lifted. When my husband and I were told, we truly were shocked in amazement. And of course elated! I also have no signs of bleeding or further complications. My placenta is lying in the front, but other than that, the chord and baby are all where they should be :) I am so thankful! This experience has taught me so much. Primarily that, we cannot control everything, and having an open mind about labor and delivery is crucial! I am able to peacefully say that the most important thing is for both our baby and I to be alive and well in the end!

Now on to the exciting part :)  We wanted to find out the sex and there is no doubt what we are having haha! Little one was stretching, opening their mouth, waiving, kicking and at one point flipped all the way down! And without any further delay.... Gabriel wants to let you know that we are having....

YES, a baby BOY! We are thrilled! I am officially a #momofboys :) I am so thankful that he is looking as healthy as ever, and his profile is very similar to his big brother's. I am so excited to meet him, and see how these boys interact :)

Thanks so much for following our journey, and we cannot wait to share more of our story.

Hello lovelies! I hope everyone had a fantastic 4th of July weekend. We took a last minute trip to visit my family and it was so great! We were able to relax, breathe in the country air and spend time with our faves. I was even able to meet my bestie's sweet baby boy who is only a few weeks old. All of that holiday traffic was worth it :)

Here are my #ootd's for last week. I love to mix it up and now that it's summer I'm able to wear all of my skirts and dresses!

I hope you have a wonderful week!
